I had plans for today. Not big plans, just a little writing and maybe some food prep and naps. But I've had to let it all go for this. Except for the naps, those are staying put!

Flowers in my face, grass under my feet, wind and rain in my hair, baby wrapped on my chest and some time dedicated to the eldest babe and Steve. Little else could drag me from my golden month cave. Then home, straight back to bed and feeling ready for another two weeks of rest and recovery - and the best food drop off from @seeking_my_joy Steve has been joking I wouldn't last the entire golden month at home, and it turns out he was right. But an hour out was enough for deep breaths and to let the realisation settle in again that more time is needed. So back to it!

Squid's wee little fingers. Baby M decided to make a surprise arrival this week, early just like her brother and equally as delicious. We're settling into the golden month, with days being clumsily balanced between naps and nourishing ourselves and the needs of an energetic toddler who needs sun and fresh air on his body to balance out his big emotions. I won't say it's easy, and there have been tears from most people in the house, but it's all bloody marvellous, if I say so myself.

Book delivery day is always a good day. We are normally library devotees but this time I decided to line our bookshelves with these special pages. 📖 A little Brambly Hedge goodness for the wee girl rolling in my belly, and some adventuring for the toddler to help ease the transition. Actually who am I kidding, it's Steve and I who will be diving into face first into bush school fun.

I think I've finally got this mat leave/late pregnancy thing down. Solo brekkie and chai while (re re) re reading Harry Potter, with little else on the agenda than library visits, garden hangs and maybe some yoga or writing. It's going to be a good day 🌻
