Time really does fly, doesn’t it? It feels like it was just yesterday Steve and I were planning our wedding. I wanted it on the beach or in the country, with lots of flowers and somewhere to dance the night away. Steve wanted excellent food accompanied by tasty wine and a bar to lean on while chatting to his friends.
A tip off from a friend led us to Fig Tree Restaurant and Rooms in Ewingsdale in the Byron Bay hinterland, which ticked every box. The restaurant is in an old house with huge windows overlooking the Byron Bay coastline and paddocks lining the other side and the mouthwatering food is made from local produce including the restaurant’s own veggie patch. It was perfect.
It was there we exchanged vows under the shade of a fig tree and celebrated with our nearest and dearest late into the night.
It may have been five years, but the excitement of this day hasn’t dimmed.
We really should do it all again!
